Who should wear the socks?

The socks are designed to be worn up to 24 hours a day and can be worn by any adult man or woman. The following conditions are ideal scenarios in which the socks can be worn;

Sport

Any type of sporting activity during or after play, especially those in which the lower limb is put under strain.

  • Performance – worn during exercise
  • Supports the calf muscle – improves oxygen delivery to the calf, reduces muscle oscillation, optimises muscle alignment/efficiency
  • Improves venous return
  • Helps temperature regulation
  • Improves calf muscle stamina – delays time to exhaustion
  • Recovery from Exercise – worn for a minimum of 2-3 hours post exercise, reduces DOMS – (Delayed onset muscle soreness) - so your legs feel less sore and stiff after exercise
  • Helps flush waste products from tired muscles
  • Reduces exercise associated swelling

Travel – worn during periods of travel

Can be worn when performing any type of travel. Helps reduce the swelling associated with prolonged immobility. Medically certified to reduce the risk of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) during long haul travel.

Maternity – worn during pregnancy

Can be worn at any point during the pregnancy. Helps with lower limb swelling (which occurs in 80% of pregnant women), reduces tired and achy legs, reduces complications from varicose veins. Medically certified to reduce the risk of DVT – the largest killer of pregnant women in the developed world.

Daywear/Occupational – worn as replacements for normal socks

Indicated for all professions, especially ones where there are long periods of sitting, standing or walking or if you end up with tired, achy or swollen legs at the end of a day.

Post–operative rehabilitation

The daywear sock is also perfect to use for people at home recovering from surgery, as they are at increased risk of DVT and lower leg swelling and the compression sock provides a comfortable, clinically proven solution to these issues.

Medical Indications

There are certain medical conditions in which the daywear sock is ideal, these include;

  • Varicose veins
  • Venous Insufficiency
  • Post-thrombotic syndrome
  • Healed venous ulcer
  • Mild lymphoedema
  • Post-operative
  • Any condition which increase your risk of blood clots
  • Previous DVT's

There are also certain acute medical injuries when wearing the daywear sock is ideal;

  • Ankle sprains (reduces swelling and provides support)
  • Calf Tears
  • Shin Splints
  • Chronic Compartment Syndrome
  • Cramp
  • Any period of immobility e.g. when in Aircast Boot

Contra-indications

Being a medical device there are certain conditions where the sock shouldn't be worn or used under the advice of a clinician.

  • Peripheral vascular disease (poor circulation of the lower limbs)
  • Open wounds/ulcers
  • Diabetes with lower limb complications
  • Stroke patients with lower limb paralysis
  • Uncontrolled heart failure
  • Severe Lymphoedema

Please be aware that because the design of the sock, they require a degree of effort to stretch and put on and should be used with caution in people with severe arthritis or weakness in their upper limbs.

Our socks are manufactured in the United Kingdom by the leading independent manufacture of compression hosiery, conforming to British Standard BS 7672 and is the only sports sock conforming to the latest European and North American consensus documents for graduated compression.

One in every 100 pairs of socks is hand tested to ensure correct compression, each sock is coded to ensure it can be traced to source.
